How to Play
Kick & Dive is a penalty shootout between two people. In each kick, one player shoots and the other saves. Roles swap after every kick, just like in a championship decider. This guide explains the controls and the rules.
Game modes
- Play Online: you join a queue and face the first available player.
- Create Private Room: the game generates a 5-letter code. Send the code or the link to your friend. As soon as they join, the match starts.
- Join Room: type the code you received on the home screen.
- Play vs CPU: offline practice with three levels (easy, medium and hard). The computer doesn't cheat: it chooses without seeing your move.
Taking the penalty
- Aim. Move your finger or the mouse over the goal. The crosshair follows, but it wobbles a little, like a shaky leg at the decisive moment.
- Lock your aim. Lift your finger (or click) when the crosshair passes over the spot you want. On a keyboard, use the space bar.
- Choose the power. The bar on the right keeps going up and down. Tap again to stop the marker.
Saving as the keeper
When it's your turn in goal, tap the spot where you think the ball will go. The keeper dives there the moment the ball is struck. If the ball touches any part of the keeper's body (gloves, arms, torso, head or legs), it's a save. Harder shots leave less time to react, so the keeper's reach shrinks against well-struck kicks.
Shooter and keeper decide at the same time. Neither sees the other's choice before the kick: the server keeps both decisions and only reveals them once both are locked in.
Time to decide
Each kick has a 10-second timer (the bar at the top of the screen). If time runs out, the shooter takes a weak shot toward the middle of the goal and the keeper stays still in the center. Better not let the clock run down.
Shootout rules
- Each player takes five kicks, alternating.
- If one side can no longer catch up, the shootout ends before all ten kicks.
- Tied after five each: sudden death. Each player takes one more; if one scores and the other misses, it's over.
- Hitting the post or shooting wide counts as a missed kick.
Connection and drops
If your connection drops during a match, the game tries to reconnect automatically. You have 15 seconds to come back. After that, your opponent wins by forfeit. Leaving a match in the middle also counts as a loss.
